Lake Could Freeze

It has been many years since Lake Pend Oreille froze over. I have heard it has, but not in the 26 years I've lived in Bayview.

Many things have to come together. First, an Arctic outbreak, well we certainly have that. Then the lake temperature must get very cold. Then no wind to keep the water still.

If we get enough below zero weather, the bay could snap freeze. It will be very interesting to see.

There are 9 days predicted to be at or below zero in the next month and multiple days at least 8 days at 15 or less.

Reverse Racism

Well, it looks like the downtrodden has been elevated to superior.

When is the last time you saw a commercial that didn't include a black person? Usually a male paired with a blonde Caucasian woman.

This in your face attempt is designed to raise black people to that above everyone else and to promote mixed relationships. This campaign is way over the top. Equality, yes, but brain washing a resounding NO!

fire Close To Home

After seeing multiple fire fighter flights dipping in Lake Pend Oreille, I called Timberlake. They informed me of a new fire at approximately Hwy 95 and  Trails End. This would explain the heavy response for a heavily populated area near by.

Stand by.

American Flag Protocol

Flag protocol specifically prohibits the wearing of the American Flag as apparel. Over Bayview Daze, there were hundreds flaunting that rule.

All of use veterans know better, but apparently it is not taught elsewhere. These actions do not reflect patriotism, but ignorance. Please stop disrespecting our flag.[

Bayview Daze Thoughts

I carried several thoughts from Bayview Daze, The first was I don't think I've ever seen so many grossly fat peple in one place at the same time.

But what was facinating, was the peaceful day. With the exception of one young man lighting two firecrackers, who stopped when I yelled at him, not one boom was heard all day. Both residents and tourists behaved well during this hot dangerous weather. They are to be congratuated.

One thing happened for the first time in my 26 years living here though. I drove to church, then when I returned a woman had stolen my parking place while I was gone. She moved her car, but what nerve.

We were very lucky that the thunder storms stayed south of Bayview. No Fires, either man caused or not happened on our turf.

Have a great and safe rest of Summer.

Bayview Bible Church

I recently became a member of the Bayview Bible Church. The congregation currently meets in the Community Center. There is an ongoing drive to produce a free standing church building on the church property across the street.

Bayview needs a church. You folks may belong to another church or are unchurched. Whether one or the other, I urge you to donate to the building fund.  Small donations from a large group of people will put us over the top.

Individuals, businesses and even those outside Bayview. Athol and Careywood are urged to help out.

Send these donations to: Bayview Bible Church, Building fund.

Remembering Rush

Many years ago while living in Federal Way, Washington I did a talk show gig at Tacoma's KLAY. Although my show was live, most of the programing was syndicated. I would sit at a desk with at least two newspapers.

A hot topic at the time was the tanker disaster in Alaska. Preceeding my time slot was the Rush Limbaugh show. His sense of humor and bombastice delivery got me pumped up for my show.

There has never been anyone like him and most probably will never again see or hear the likes of him.

R.I.P. big guy.

Home Care vs Assisted Living

Today's CDA Press has a story from the Catholic church. In it they cite the many nursing home deaths as murder. I agree.

Fortunately, I have home care givers paid for by the Veterans Administration. Too bad for those not in service.

I am 83 years old or will be in March. I believe I wouldn't still be kicking without the VA medical and home care. Speaking of which I need a house keeper for the first two weeks in March since my regular is taking those weeks off to care for her husband after surgery.

Impeachment?

It apparently hasn't occured to Congress that you cannot impeach a private citizen. Trump is a private citizen.

It is past time for the House either kicks Pelosi out or starts to legislate serious laws thast are balanced. If the Democrats continue on the radical lines that have been drawn, the Supreme Court will get busy undoing crap that has seen as unconstitutional.

If anyone needs impeaching it would be Pelosi and Shuman.

Pineapple Express

The weather radar shows a storm starting near Hawaii and streching to hear. This will last for several days, so don't plan on having any picnics.

The only good thing about all this rain is it adds to the mountain snow pack which will be needed next Summer.

This may however, keep people from gathering during this pandemic. Bayview is so quiet you woud think everyone has abandoned the town.

Revolt

For the last four years we have experienced havoc caused by Democrats in denial. Now it's the Trump Republicans in denial.

Right now demonstrators (If you want to call them that) are rioting at and even in that capitol building. Both parties are guilty of extreme behavior. If our Republic is to survive, these people must go home.

Our survival politically is at risk. I oppose this horible behavior. Everyone needs to shut up, stop playing power games and allow our government the opportunity to govern. It is what it is, folks.

I learned yesterday that President Trump sent the demonstratpors to the capital. Is it possible that after Biden is inaugurated, Trump could be indited for inciting to riot? I hope not. That would cause open warfaare between the Biden administration and the militant Trump supporters.

Let's hope that the retoric dies down and people goes back to their regular life. Fer Christ sake we need to somehow mute Pelosi and Shuman.
