A recently formed cruise boat is available for those who visit Bayview, but don't have the ability to see the lake, from the lake. See mountain goats frolicking on Bernard peak, panoramic views for miles that include bear, elk, cougar, moose, deer and occasionally a large fish jumping as if asking permission to come aboard. This service is available from a licensed operator with Coast Guard certification. For more information, call Wake Up Tours, at 208-660-5388.
We are in the last week of preparations for what will possibly the best Bayview Daze celebration yet. The parade starts at 11:00 am with roads closed at about 10:30 am. Get into town early, so you can get good parking. If you are skipping the parade and just want to get to your moorage, don't be late, or plan on spending some time at a road block. We just learned that the Captain's Wheel is featuring daytime music Saturday, the fourth. The ever popular Bell's will be playing outdoors throughout the afternoon.
A rumor suggesting that the Bayview chamber of commerce has forbidden candy tosses, is false. Some unauthorized person reported such to the sheriff department, which is ironic, since Sheriff Rocky Watson threw candy in last year's parade.
