A one-day Stand Down for Veterans who need help or are homeless, “A hand up...not a hand out!”
This event was designed to bridge many of the barriers between service providers and recipients. Primary emphasis is placed on the creation of an event in which homeless veterans are treated with respect and given the opportunity to relax, interact with peers and volunteers while receiving much needed services.

We just returned from the Veterans Stand Down in CdA. I volunteered along with many other volunteers who were so helpful and kind..it was a great event. Hundreds of Vets , young and old, and their families came from Idaho, Washington and Montana..don't know the official count. They received food , clothing, coats, boots ..you name it...all surplus new stuff along with Veterinary care for pets, medical care at the VA bus, referrals to clinics etc. and many more services. They also received many sincere "Thank yous" for their service. There will be another one next year, so keep your eyes open for the announcements and tell all of your friends who are Veterans.
It was a well organized and wonderful event for all of our Veterans and their families to give them a helping hand.
